At Von der haus Gill Police K-9 Academy our program is geared towards the real world working situations. We have 3 Master Trainers on staff. We have decades of experience in Police K-9 handling/ training. We have conducted over 104 Basic and Advanced Police K-9 Handler Schools to date. All Trainers are current or retired K-9 handlers NO civilians ever. We only use staff who has actually done the job.  This is not a civilian program pretending to know what the law enforcement K-9 world is all about. Our instructors teach across the country at National Training Seminars, sit on National K-9 Executive Boards, 1 sits on the National Sheriff’s Board of Governors for Homeland Security and is writing National K-9 Standards for the National Sheriff’s Association, and we testify in court cases as expert witnesses. 2 of our staff are Bomb Techs. Our program is highly respected across the country. We train officers for Federal, State, County and Local Law Enforcement agencies as well as Private Secuirty Firms from all across the United States.

Our program includes real world search training at our world class facility as well as many off site settings. We train daytime hours and many nighttime hours as well to again simulate the real world handlers will encounter.  We train as you would work! We train in areas such as, live fire, tactical control, traffic stops, felony searches, schools, buildings. We offer many hours of classroom work taught by our staff or Medical Training by a Vet and Legal Class which is taught by a Nationally Respect K-9 Attorney, as well as the hands on training.

Certifications:

On completion of the schools, students can certify with Ohio Peace Officers Council if eligible, National Association of Professional Canine Handlers, American Police Canine Association. We are licensed by ATF. We are a  former GSA Contract Holder.
